Best Wineries In Ramona – Ramona is 45 miles northeast of San Diego County. Located in the Santa Maria Valley, the city is home to some of California’s most impressive wineries and vineyards. The vineyards are so special that the area was designated an American Viticulture Region in 2006. The Ramona Valley AVA is only the third “AVA” in Southern California. There are 60 wineries and 30 Ramona wineries. 24 of the 30 wineries are currently open for wine tasting.

Ramona Wines is located north between San Diego and Temecula Wines. Unlike Temecula, the grapes in Ramona are generally fresher and smaller in scale. You won’t find restaurants, hotels and concert venues in Ramona Vineyards. Here, travelers can visit vineyards, taste wines made from different varieties, and enjoy cascading views of the valley. The area is rural and the pace is slow. The perfect combination for a day of wine tasting!

This Ramona vineyard is a wine lover’s oasis. A variety of wines (both chilled and red) can be tasted for just $15 or a wine tasting by the glass for $12.

Sangria, served in red and white, is a favorite among guests. Turtle Rock also offers guests a complimentary wine tour, live music and a dog-friendly environment. You can also pour your own wine here. Some of the most popular wines include Hello Sunshine, a smooth and crisp Sauvignon Blanc, and Hello Beautiful, their signature red blend.

We included Vineyard Grant James because they take the flavor of Ramona wine to another level. In addition to wine tastings, Grant James treats guests to wine and painting classes, exclusive wine dinners, tastings of cave cheeses and complimentary picnics for wine club members. Tastings at the winery are $10 and are waived with bottle purchases. Complimentary cheese and crackers and guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic. For those suffering from disorientation, Grant James also takes AMA Waterways on river cruises to Bordeaux and other windy regions of France. The staff at Hatfield Creek Winery will treat you like family. Owners Debbie and Norm greet guests and pour their finest wines, including bold reds and refreshing whites. Wine tasting is a flight of five wines for $10. The grounds are beautiful and there is a food pavilion where guests can enjoy lunch with wine pairings in the middle of the vineyards. Yogis maintain a meditation circle decorated with stones and bricks. You can make it yourself. To commemorate a loved one, Hatfield Creek offers a program called Adopt-A-Vine, where you can receive a name tag in your loved one’s honor. The next vineyard is named humbird in Spanish – strong, confident and flirtatious. The wine is 100% grown and the best Zinfandel in the region. Tastings are $10 per person for 5 wines. Malbec and Sangiovese are among the reds you should try. The dry rose is a departure from the red wines they offer, but is a known guest favorite. A stay at this Ramona winery is like visiting an Italian farm – cozy, welcoming and great wine. Wine lovers can enjoy tasting flights for $5 and $10 Thursday through Sunday, noon to sunset. The vineyard is also lit up during the winter months as a Christmas tree farm. Their handcrafted small wines are all from Italian varietals – Syrah, Viognier, Moscato, Fiano and Aglianico Black Rose. Wines are all proprietary, including popular red dessert wines. Bring a picnic lunch, listen to live music and drink flights of wine for the perfect day out in Principe. If you are driving from the Los Angeles area (a 3-hour drive to Ramona), Ramona is accessible via the 5 and 15 freeways. When Matthew learned that there were several vineyards in the area, we began planning a trip to see what the vineyards had to offer.

Ramona offers a unique wine tasting experience, operating tasting rooms from the winery’s residence. Due to the intimate atmosphere, you can regularly chat with the owner and/or winemaker during the tasting. Smaller vineyards and AVAs do not have the same resources as larger vineyards and AVAs and can only survive on the strong palates of those lucky enough to acquire boutique wines.

Get a buzz from the sound and imagine yourself in the early days of Napa Valley, Paso Robles and Temecula Valley. We love Hatfield Creek’s “Where Every Hour Is Happy Hour!” We love the motto. because in our minds it doesn’t take a certain amount of time to open and enjoy one of Hatfield’s wines or wines. Hatfield Creek produces primarily Zinfandel, Petite Syrah, and Syrah, but also has other varieties.

Milagro is probably one of the best wineries in Ramona for weddings and other events. They have a new winemaker in Hugo D’Acosta from Valle del Guadalupe. Milagros’ mission is to honor the unique qualities of the Ramona Valley and its Mexican culture. They produce everything a plate desires, be it Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Brut Flaming Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris or red blends. They also grow olive oil.

Ramona Ranch is a family-owned vineyard and winery focused on sustainability, and their farm is recognized as a National Wildlife Federation-certified wildlife sanctuary. You can taste in their tasting room or sit on the veranda and enjoy the view of the valley. Ramona Ranch produces Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, ZSM, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and Indulgence (Sauvignon Blanc dessert wine).
