The club’s newly established player development pathway complements the training young players receive at their junior clubs, offering specialist coaching to help them improve their skills and pave the way between youth football and the highest levels of the professional game.

The architect of these programs is General Manager – Technical and Coaching Rob Sherman, who believes that the camps are an important step in providing the support that future players need to realize their potential.

“Over 30 potential juniors were sent by their clubs to our camp at Spring Hills in early January and the standard was testament to the excellent work their coaches are doing at junior level and bodes well for future camps.

“Some of these players have been invited to the Pre-Academy Center, which will help them realize their potential, along with the training they receive at their youth clubs.”
Melbourne Victory Team of the Decade member and current academy under-20 coach Grant Brebner believes the track and pre-academy centers will revolutionize player development in Australia.
“These programs will give young players the opportunity to learn how we work, they will be exposed to excellent training and will make a huge difference to their development.
