No list of restaurants in Buckinghamshire would be complete without mentioning Hand & Flowers, a gastropub just off Marlow’s bustling high street. Our favourite, Hand & Flowers opened in 2005 and is owned by Tom Kerridge and his wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge. It is currently the only pub in the UK to hold 2 Michelin stars. This is a proper pub that guarantees proper food and a warm welcome.

Originally a coaching inn built in 1743, the building has a rich history and significance in Maidenhead and was converted into a fashionable hotel in 1833 by William Shindle. Lovingly restored after closing its doors, The Roux in Shindles is now home to this lovely venue. Thames and Maiden Head Bridge on the Berks border. Despite its expensive look, the interior is stylish yet casually comfortable and impressive, and the upstairs bar area with its outdoor terrace is worth going early to snag a table for drinks overlooking the river.
The food at Roux in Shindles is fantastic, we had fantastic food here and the cocktails are excellent. Try the Pornstar Martini and Spritz Veneziano, you won’t be disappointed.
Crazy Bear is outrageous, brilliant and very memorable. Set in the heart of beautiful Beaconsfield, it offers something for everyone and we’re big fans, so much so that we’ve had evening, afternoon tea and eats at Thai and English restaurants. We are fans. It is housed in the oldest recorded building in Beaconsfield, a 15th-century coaching inn, and has been carefully restored with great attention to detail, dramatic architecture and stunning decor. There’s a lot to cover here, so here’s our quick summary, and you can check out their website for more information.

The English restaurant serves meat, fresh fish and crustaceans cooked from an open grill. All meat and butcher at Crazy Bear Farm Shop. Some of our favorite recipes; White Crab and Shrimp Fried Rice, Fried Black Cod and Crispy Salt and Pepper Tiger Prawns. My mouth is watering just writing this.
Another favorite in Marlow, The Botanist offers great food, great cocktails and live music as the cherry on top. The menus at The Botanist are rich and varied. Botanists’ boards are perfect for sharing and picking, and don’t miss their famous hanging kebabs (the crispy halloumi is the best). If you’re looking for a weekday lunch option, it’s family friendly, with a children’s menu available and good value at £6.95. For my favorite cocktails. The Garage has a cool and modern vibe and is located in a hidden neighborhood of Buckingham on Well Street in a Grade II listed building. Once officially a garage, yes, you guessed it, a garage. Old model petrol pumps still decorate the facade of the building and add to its quaintness. The interior meets the exterior with exposed brickwork, exposed wooden tables and cool lighting.
Guaranteed to start your garage food and drink engine. Let’s start with the drinks… gins (tick), a great wine menu, plenty of beer and cider, and fantastic cocktails a little more adventurous than the classic Cosmo. Netflix and Pillowtalk, anyone? The food menu is equally impressive, with something for everyone.

This is a gem to be found in High Wycombe after discovering the little fact that Lata Lata is under an underpass. Lata Lata stands for small plates, local ingredients and seasonal dishes. Lata Lata opened in 2018 with a mission to bring the best of the Chilterns to life in a neighborhood restaurant. The kitchen has a Mediterranean feel and shares a wonderful tapas style, making it a lively and fun place to enjoy great food. Whether you fancy brunch, lunch or dinner, you’ll be well taken care of here. And don’t forget to check out the cocktail list.

Third stop at Marlow but we couldn’t get Sindhu off the list. This place is our favorite. We have been twice now and each time the food and service have been excellent – we highly recommend it. Sitting on the banks of the River Thames at Marlow Bridge with stunning waterfront views, Sindhu is owned by celebrity chef Atul Kochhar. Indus refers to authentic and contemporary South Indian cuisine. The food is mouthwatering and subtly spiced. We opted for the tasting menu twice, because honestly the food is so delicious, you have to limit yourself to one dish!
