As they say, where there’s good wine, there’s good food, and Margaret River is a major wine-growing region. Spend some time in the south-west of Western Australia and you’ll soon find some great places to eat.

How To Visit Margaret River On A Budget (and Not Feel Like You’re Missing Out!)

On any trip to Margaret River be sure to check the latest map for the various attractions and of course the location of the Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River Visitor Centres. This is very important because there are a lot of black cell phones in the “south” where Google Maps may not work.

Below is a longer description of each location and here is my short list of places to eat in Margaret River.

From the outside, the lower entrance and dining room are very nondescript, but that changes as soon as the sliding doors open to reveal a dark barrel room and the aroma of oak, then another heavy set. the door reveals the tasting area. After the wine tasting – my choice was their chardonnay – next door, for lunch at the restaurant run by husband and wife Blair and Renee Allen. They make everything from scratch and use local produce from their kitchen garden. It is beautiful and a must visit.
