We stayed there for 3 nights in a room with a view of the upper Nile on the second floor. The room was on the light side but with huge high ceilings and a lovely balcony to watch Cornish horse drawn carriages and Nile feluccas. We saw the blessing at Kings Beach one morning and the Hatshepsut memorial temple opposite the hotel lit up at night. We had no problems with noise and the air conditioning worked very well. The hotel was an old building that definitely needed a complete renovation, but it definitely had charm. Walking up the grand staircase and under the large stained glass window into the vestibule below was always a special treat. The staff was very attentive. The grounds are beautiful and the lunch at the restaurant by the pool was excellent. Tangines are served at night, as is barbecue.
Unfortunately I only had one night in Luxor, but I’m so glad I stayed at the old Winter Palace! Historic hotel and absolutely beautiful gardens! Lots of birds including peacocks and flamingos. The pool restaurant was great! ! And the pool is great. The interior of the hotel is very old and classic. Your room key is a real key. Most of the staff are very nice! And a beautiful view of the Nile!! I will definitely stay again, hopefully longer next time
A beautiful and charming hotel. Less yesterday. Very wheelchair accessible, the gardens are beautiful but full of flies. A good breakfast was included and dinner was very good. The night walk along the river was very pleasant. There are souvenir stands.
